Moorland

Moorlands are located in uplands and have acidic, low-nutrient and often water-logged soil conditions. These areas are man-made, requiring landscape management. Heather plants tend to dominate these areas, though deep peat lies beneath. This environment provides a habitat for a range of small mammals, insects, and some reptiles and amphibians. Britain consists of 10-15% of the world’s moorland, found mainly in the north and west of the country, which makes OpenSpace’s location ideal for managing such projects.

If you have a Restoration Project, Management Project or Recreation Project on moorland then OpenSpace Cumbria Limited can help. Whether it is wildlife related, vegetation related, or both, we can offer you the expertise and experience to bring your project to fruition.

Please call our team to discuss your project on 01228 711841 or email enquiries@openspacegb.com.
