Coronavirus - At this current time - March 2020 - we are experiencing very difficult times and the importance to follow Government advice about social distancing and self-isolation is our main consideration. To respond to the current crisis OpenSpace is suspending all our ecological surveys which relate to entering buildings or where survey locations bring us in to contact we the general public. As such we are asking all existing clients and potential clients to plan their surveys outside of April & May. If there is a need to clarify our position please contact our office or email.
OpenSpace is a specialist Ecological Consultancy and Conservation Contracting company. Our services cover a broad range of disciplines. OpenSpace can provide protected species surveys (bats, birds, great crested newts, reptiles, badgers, white-clawed crayfish, otters, etc.), botanical/habitat surveys (Phase 1 Habitat and Extended Phase 1 Habitat, National Vegetation Classfication (NVC), hedges, macrophytes (aquatic plants of lakes and rivers) and rare plants and bryophytes, etc.). We offer ecological assessments to support development planning, planning applications, and ecological mitigation.
Based in Cumbria, OpenSpace is well placed to undertake projects throughout the UK. OpenSpace employs a team of highly skilled, friendly professionals, with an in-depth practical experience and a strong customer-focused approach. We regularly offer ecological planning advice to private clients, developers, architects, project managers, planners, engineers, and other industry professionals. Brought in at an early stage of the project, our approach is to offer practical solutions that are cost effective but provide real benefit to habitats and wildlife.
